Isaiah Vazquez is a sports photographer based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Currently, he’s a graduate student in the Multimedia, Photography, and Design program at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Recently, he completed an internship with Clarkson Creative Photography in Denver, Colorado. The internship included working with NCAA Photos, covering a number of championships from Men’s Gymnastics, Women’s College World Series to the entirety of the 2022 March Madness tournament, including the Men’s Final Four in New Orleans. Isaiah is a 2020 graduate from the Visual Communications Technology program at Bowling Green State University. During his time in visual media over the past ten years, he’s worked in multiple fields including photojournalism, graphic design, social media, and public relations that has been published in dozens of publications.

Outside of school, he was part of the first class of photographers at the Ohio State Fair in 2017, while winning the “City in Transit” competition hosted by Mid Story Toledo in July 2019. Most recently, he completed the 33rd Eddie Adams Workshop, an elite photojournalism workshop with only a 50 students and 50 professionals around the world admitted every year. During the workshop, he was nominated for the Nikon Award, given to the top photographers of the event. Most recently, he has won several awards while working with The Newshouse, Syracuse University’s student publication.

His photographic experiences stretch outside of event coverage, where his past work includes story-telling illustrations for universities, portrait photography, and video coverage for different businesses around the United States.
